Travelling abroad? Use our helper below to figure out which tests you need to book.

“I’m travelling abroad and have my return booked.”

  • Check the testing requirements of your destination country using the government’s search tool
  • Also check if your destination requires a you to take a PCR test to enter the country using the government’s search tool
  • From 4am on 11 February all testing requirements are removed for eligible fully vaccinated arrivals. These passengers, therefore, are only required to fill out a simplified passenger locator form, confirming their vaccination status, travel history and contact details.
  • Arrivals who do not qualify as fully vaccinated will only need to take a pre-departure test in the 2 days before they depart for the UK and a PCR test on or before the end of day 2 after they arrive in the UK, as well as completing the passenger locator form. These passengers will not need to self-isolate on arrival and will only need to do so if they test positive.
  • Children aged 4 and under do not have to take any COVID-19 travel tests on arrival in England.
  • Children aged 5 to 17 have to follow the testing and quarantine rules for people who qualify as fully vaccinated on arrival in England.

Please note: there are different testing requirements for children, depending on their age. See our FAQs page and check government guidelines for details. Also note the above guidelines relate to England only. The government’s travel regulations may differ in Scotland and Wales. HALO is not available in Northern Ireland or outside the UK.
